Craps bets can be highly entertaining and very rewarding, especially when those dice are hot! Unfortunately, the mistaken belief that the game’s betting options are difficult to understand and to win mean that many players have never experienced the game’s power – and it is high time that changed.
Craps In A Nutshell
A possibly ancient game, Craps is played with two 6-sided dice, and sees players bet on the outcomes of rolls. The table layout groups Come bets on the left, Pass bets on the right, and Props bets in the centre. To play the game, you need to place Craps bets and then roll the dice.
That’s where we come in. By the time you are finished reading this article, you should have a new appreciation of the some of the popular bets you can place when you play Craps online.
Popular Bets Explained
Pass Line: Recommended for beginners, the Pass Line bet is won by rolling a 7 or 11 – and if your bet wins, it will pay even money. Rolling a 2, 3, or 12 loses the bet. Another result establishes the Point. If the Point is established, you can win by rolling that number again before you roll a 7.
Pass Line Odds: If you establish the Point when rolling the dice to win a Pass Line bet, you can take the odds, and place a Pass Line Odds bet. Both bets will win if you roll the Point before rolling a 7.
Don’t Pass Line: Win your Don’t Pass Line bet by rolling a 2 or 3. Rolling a 7 or 11 loses the bet, but a 12 pushes. Another result establishes the Point. If that happens, or if you roll a 12, you will need to see the dice produce a 7 to win the bet. Rolling the Point a second time will lose the bet.
Don’t Pass Odds: You can take the odds if you establish the Point when rolling for a Don’t Pass Line bet. Like the Pass Line Odds bet, you win it by rolling a 7 before rolling the Point again.
Come Craps Bet: Whenever you establish the Point, you also can place a Come bet. You need to roll a 7 or 11 to win it. Rolling a 2, 3, or 12 loses the bet. Another result, however, will establish a new Point. If you manage to do that, you need to roll the new Point before rolling a 7 to win.
Don’t Come Bet: The Don’t Come bet is an alternative to the Come bet. If you place it after you establish the Point, you need to roll a 2 or 3 to win it. Rolling a 7 or 11 loses the bet, but a 12 will push. Another result becomes the new Point.
2 Craps Bet or Snake Eyes: The 2 Craps bet is famously known as Snake Eyes. When you place it, you are wagering that the outcome of your roll will be 2. If you are lucky enough to roll that number, the bet will pay out 30 to 1.
