If you love poker and playing at online casinos, you may wonder what the most popular poker games are found at virtual casinos. Many people when they think of poker only know about 7 card stud or 5 card stud. However, with the invention of the internet and of course more poker players from around the world joining forces, there are several different types of poker available at online casinos.

Texas Hold’em Poker may be the hottest poker game around today. As a matter of fact, it is holding its first place title in offline and online casinos with many having a room set aside especially for players. The game begins with each player receiving 2 cards face down with the other cards dealt face up in the middle of the table. Players must use their cards along with the ones in the middle of the table to create the best hand possible.

Omaha High Poker is very similar to Texas Hold’Em with the exception that all players are given 4 cards face down with the remaining dealt face up in the middle of the table. Once again, players must create the best hand possible with their “hole” cards and the ones in the center of the table.

Omaha Hi-Lo (8 or Better) Poker comes in 3rd place. Once again this game is close to the same as those above with a few variations. All players receive four cards face down just like with Omaha High. The difference is that only 2 of these cards can be used in their created hand. So, this means you can use two of your cards only and three from the center of the table to create the best hand. You will be trying to creating the lowest or highest possible hand out of all the possibilities, with both the highest and lowest sharing the pot.

Seven Card Stud Poker is more than likely known around the world often played at home as well as in casinos online and offline. At one time, this poker game was the most popular in the United States. The cards are deal with three face down and four face up. The goal is to create the best possible five card combination such as full house, 3 of kind, etc. In stud poker, you are not dealt any other cards as in other poker games. You must use the cards you receive and cannot exchange them for new cards as in some poker variations.

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8’s or better is similar to 7 card stud except that the highest and lowest hand will share the pot. All players receive the cards in the same fashion with three face down and 4 face up. You will be trying to create either the highest or lowest hand whichever you believe will win the pot.

There are several other poker games you can find online and offline to experience. If you are not familiar with a game, stand by and watch until you get the gist and then try your luck.
